その日のうちに、酸素濃縮器は2台準備することになり、医療器具の会社の方となぜか訪問看護士さんのふたりもやって来ることに。

その頃にはわたしはもう嫌過ぎて記憶も、貼り絵感がありますが、この際ハッキリと聞いてみようと「この機会は7L酸素量1Lから5Lまでと言う指示でしたよね…。」と言うと大きく頷いた看護士さん。そのすぐ、ぐわーっと顔を近づけて「緊急時はAaaaー」と言うのでまた悪い癖で話す気が失せてしまいました。

父も姉もわたしも初めての経験、迷惑かけたくないと人一倍思っているだろう母を前にいつものようにできる限り過ごしていましたし、父の好きなバート・バカラックのAlfie流したら母が怒ったり、少しの失敗はあったもののなんとか気をつけていました。

母は特に他の方が来ると元気に振る舞って楽しませようとしてるのがわかりましたので心配していて、その日に限っては、食欲もなく葡萄5粒と頂いたゼリーしか食べれずにいたのに..。

そして次の朝また酸素の数値が上がらず、熱がまた上がっていました。緊急連絡先訪問医の方へ電話をかけ、少し待つと受け入れお願いしたので救急車を呼んでくださいとのこと。そんななか父は薬を取りに薬局に行ってしまい、父が戻ると同時に救急車を呼んで母を主治医のいる病院へ運んで頂きました。

もちろんわたしは酸素量最大10Lにしていたのですが、救急隊の酸素も10Lで母がどんなに頑張っていたのかと思いました。

緊急搬送口にはたくさんの家族の姿があり、

ベンチに1人座って待つことに。

姉の隔離期間が終わり、戻ってくるので、わたしは今日まで母の元にいる予定で病院に来て逆に安心していました。

母の様子や医師のやりとりを父と姉が揃ってやってきたと同時に担当の先生から母がコロナに感染していると聞かされました。

Later that day, two oxygen concentrators were to be prepared, a lady from medical equipment company and  those nurses for some reason were to come as well.

By that time, I was already too disgusted to remember and felt like a disjointed  painting but I decided to ask them clearly at this point, “ you told me the docter instructed us to oxygen volume from 1L till 5L, didn't you?" The nurses nodded deeply Immediately after that, she faced and said, "In case of emergency〜〜," and I lost the desire to speak again, as is my bad habit.

It was the first time for my father, older sister, and me to experience this, and we tried to spend a normal life in front of my mother, who was probably more concerned than anyone else not to cause us any trouble.

I was worried about my mother because I could see that she was trying to entertain the other guests even they are nurses or doctors, especially when they came the day, she had no appetite and could only eat five grapes and some jelly that I had given her....

And the next morning her oxygen levels were not up again, and her fever was up again. I called the emergency contact visiting doctor, and after a short wait, she asked to be accepted and asked me to call an ambulance. My father went to the pharmacy to pick up mother’s medicine, and as soon as he returned, an ambulance was called to take my mother to the hospital where her doctor was located.

Of course, I had set the maximum amount of oxygen to 10 liters until they came, but the ambulance crew also had 10 liters of oxygen, and I wondered how hard my mother had been through.

There were many family members at the emergency exit.

I had to sit alone on a bench and wait.

My sister's quarantine period was over and she was coming back, so I came to the hospital with plans to stay with my mother until today and was conversely relieved.

As soon as my father and sister arrived together to check on my mother and communicate with the doctors, the doctor in charge told me that my mother was infected with COVID-19.
